Self Forgiveness Program

Summer/Fall, 2024

The self-forgiveness program is a hybrid in person and online course to explore the transformational influence that self-forgiveness can have in your life. The course will be conducted through a supportive community that together will hold each other’s journey of self-forgiveness.

What is Self-Forgiveness

In the self-forgiveness program we learn how the past can shape and distort our relationship with our present life. How the past shapes our relationship with our body and sensations, how the past influences how we relate to our own emotions, and how the past creates resistance toward connection and fully embracing life.

Self-forgiveness is the spark of change and growth that moves us out of past trauma and self-protection. Self-forgiveness is a growth in our capacity to look at our past with honesty and integrity in order to have compassion for the ways that our life was shaped around trauma and stress that was out of our control.

Forgiveness moves us toward exploring what life looks like when we no longer have to hold

onto the weight and tension of the past, when we no longer have to blame or shame ourselves for the things that occurred in our life, and when we no longer have to allow anger and resentment to keep us from moving forward into growth and change.

Self-forgiveness is a movement toward living a life based on self-love and freedom rather than self-protection and coping.

The Self-Forgiveness Program will help you understand the intricate process of how we support our nervous system to heal.

Forgiveness is your power to grow and heal through trauma. Your unrelenting desire to be your whole and complete self, that is always present and waiting for you.

“If you are really paying attention and really ready to heal, the day will come when you recognize that forgiveness is the only way back to the center of your innocence.”

- Iyanla Vanzant

Stepping into a community that supports your growth and healing

The Circle -

The self-forgiveness program revolves around the healing circle. During our in person retreats we sit in a circle together as a counsel.

In the circle we are taught how to show up in every moment as an active listener into the groups process.

This supports each person in the group to feel a sense of containment and safety in this group setting. In the group each individuals process of self forgiveness moves the whole group toward forgiveness. When I can share a part of my life, and I am received by others, then I no longer have to hold and suppress this aspect of my story.

This sharing and the safety that follows influence others to embrace their own stories and to open toward connection.

The circle will give you a community and source of acceptance and support that may have been needed in your past. This community and the safety that it represents will move with you through the program and through your life.

Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.
